build connection & restore confidence

Feel like you are walking on eggshells around your anxious child?

You’re not alone- and it doesn’t have to be this way. Childhood anxiety is on the rise, and many loving, well-meaning parents find themselves:

  • unsure how to respond without making things worse

  • caught in a cycle of accommodations and avoidant behavior

  • longing to help but are overwhelmed with worry

Brave Together parent groups combine the best of structured teaching, independent work, and group feedback and support.

how i can help

Parent coaching can teach you how to help your child without fueling the anxiety

I’m a therapist who recognizes that therapy has its limits. Whether or not your child is seeing a therapist for anxiety or OCD, most of your child’s patterns and symptoms occur at home within the context of the family.

Parents usually do all the legwork to find the right therapist and get their child to and from appointments, but still largely feel in the dark about how to help their anxious child.

What about the times when your child refuses to leave the house because they don’t want to go to school?

Or when your teen calls/texts you 20 times needing reassurance because they feel like they are going to have a panic attack?

Using principles from SPACE (supportive parenting for anxious childhood emotions) and NVR (non-violent resistance), these are the exact scenarios that you will learn how to address.

Together, we will:

  • Understand your child's anxiety cycle

Learn how anxiety shows up in your child’s body, brain, and behavior—and why your current responses might be keeping it stuck.

  • Break the anxiety cycle

Discover your role in the cycle and how small shifts can lead to big changes in your child’s ability to cope.

  • Respond with confidence

Replace anxious, accommodating habits with steady, compassionate leadership—especially in tough moments.

  • Foster independence and resilience

Support your child in managing their own fears with growing strength and self-trust.

Brave Together is a year-round, 12-week parent program made up of three stand-alone, 4-week modules that parents can join at any point. Each module focuses on a different part of supporting an anxious child: cultivating calm parental presence, understanding anxiety and family accommodations, and learning how to reduce accommodations while increasing support. Parents commit to one 4-week module at a time and can continue as needed. Groups meet weekly on Google Meet and include teaching, practical tools, and real-life coaching.

Common questions about parent groups

  • Yep! While the primary focus of these groups is anxiety, anxiety is often tangled up with both ADHD and Autism.

  • I focus the content of the groups for parents of kids ages 5-17. While anxiety can show up at any time, there are some important differences when responding to a very young child or an 18 year old or young adult child.

  • That’s ok! It is ideal if both parents can participate in the groups. However, it is still highly beneficial if you need to attend as a solo parent. Meetings are recorded and can be watched by the other parent at a later time.
